-
Students must bring a note from home that explains why they should be excused from participating in activities. A parent note is good for 3 days, after which a doctor’s note is needed.
-
Students need to check out a pedometer after their return and walk 2 miles per absence. This is necessary to receive a daily grade for the days missed. This is considered make-up work—failure to make up absences will have a negative effect on weekly grades.
GRADES are based in the following:
-
A daily grade is given for being present, dressing out, participating, following gym rules, staying on task, etc.
-
Skills grades are based on students performing the skills to the best of their abilities.
-
Written tests will cover the rules and principles of the current activity.
-
Physical fitness grades are based on the improvement in the students’ physical fitness tests that are given at the beginning and end of the semester. These tests are based on national standards.
